Updates, updates and more....

6/2/2014

Been a busy few months - and an even busier summer coming up - here goes!

In two weeks, I leave for the Sewanee Summer Music Festival - where I will once again perform the Daugherty Raise the Roof, Concerto for Timpani and  Orchestra, this time with the Festival Orchestra during the opening weekend concert.  Octavio Mas Orcas will lead an exciting program  including music by Copland, Puts, Dvorak and of course,Daugherty.  I'll be sure to post the video here, or you can watch the concert, live online

The next day - I fly to Ball State to join the faculty of the Music for all Summer Symposium.  MFA is a terrific program, with an outstanding line up of faculty including Michael McIntosh, Ruben Alvarez, Tom Aungst Dr. David Collier, Dr. Nathan Daughtrey, Thom Hannum, Steve Houghton, Ian Grom, Tony Nunez, and Chad Wyman.
Oh - and my old friend and world famous composer John Mackey.  Can't wait!

After MFA, I fly back to SSMF, and spend the final 3 weeks of the festival teaching and performing in two faculty chamber concerts ( music by Larsen and Lang) and the premiere of a new chamber work by Bela Fleck.  www.sewaneemusicfestival.org

The end of July will bring me back to VA and to the summer percussion workshop at George Mason University - July 28-August 1.  We are planning a great program, with a diverse array of performance and educational experiences for HS and MS students from our region.
